What is an Opening Sequence?

A Opening sequence is when films or television programs present their title, key production and cast members. The Opening credits are shown at the very start of a film and lists the most important members of the production team. They are usually shown as on a blank screen or static pictures.

This image above shows the opening sequence of the well known film The Wizard of OZ directed by Victor Fleming.

The structure of a film is the framework that allows the film to patch together and allows the audience and listener to understand the story.

The presentation of titles should be presented very clearly on each set framed image that moves across the screen so that it keeps the audience interested.
